Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma made the announcement during the BJP Legislature Party meeting held at the party’s headquarters on Thursday night, as per a spokesperson.
Banks: PSU banks will observe half-day holiday on January 22. The banks are closed as part of the order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DOPT) for central government establishments. “To enable employees to participate in the celebrations, it has been decided that all central government offices, central institutions and central industrial establishments throughout India will be closed for half day till 1430 hours on January 22,” DOPT order said.
Courts: The Bar Council of India has sent a letter to the Chief Justice of India, requesting the declaration of a holiday for all courts on January 22 in observance of the consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. The courts in Odisha will remain closed for half day.
Government offices: All the government offices including public sector banks, insurance companies, financial institutions, and regional rural banks (RRBs) across India will observe a half-day closure.
Private banks and Offices: Reliance Industries has declared a holiday for all its offices on January 22, 2024.
Private sector banks have not issued any official holiday notice for January 22. Customers are urged to inquire at their local branches for the latest updates regarding this matter.
